How to Write a Rap Battle That Lands

A 12-second battle is one exchange: two lines each. There's no room for filler, so every word has to work.

  1. 1

    Aim at one real detail

"You can't cook" is forgettable. "You burned cereal" gets a laugh. One thing everyone in the group chat recognizes beats three general insults.

  2. 2

Set it up, then land it

Put the joke at the end of the line, on the rhyme. The first line sets it up and the second one hits, so the beat does half the work.

  3. 3

    Flip their words

The best answer uses the other side's own line. If they call you slow, you're still faster than their Wi-Fi. Rapper 2 gets the last word, so give them the bigger punchline.

  4. 4

    Stay friends

Roast habits, not looks, money or family trouble. If the other person wouldn't post it themselves, rewrite it.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Write the battle

Add two names and what each side roasts the other for. AI writes four lines in about 10 seconds, or you paste your own. It's free and needs no account.

  2. 2

    Add both rappers

Upload a clear photo of each person and pick their voice. The photos don't need to be taken together.

  3. 3

    Make the video

Pick an underground warehouse, a street cypher or a boxing ring. In about 2 minutes you get a 12-second vertical MP4 of the two of you trading bars.

More Than a Text Generator

  • Your faces, face to face

Most rap battle generators stop at text, or use made-up characters. Here the two people in your photos stand opposite each other, each on a mic, and take turns.

  • Your exact bars

Write every line yourself, or edit what AI writes. You decide who says what before anything renders.

  • Checked before you see it

Every video is checked against your lyrics when it finishes. If it missed words, we render it again for free and give you the better take.

Rap Battle Questions

How do I make an AI rap battle video?

Enter both names and what each side roasts the other for, and AI writes four lines. Add a photo of each person, pick an arena and make the video. The two of you stand face to face and take turns: Rapper 1 raps the first two lines and Rapper 2 answers with the last two.

Is the AI rap battle generator free?

Writing the battle is free, with no sign-up. A video needs a free account: new accounts get 10 credits once their email is verified, enough for one standard video. A battle costs the same as any other video. After that, credit packs start at $4.99, and there's no subscription to cancel on a pack.

Does each rapper get their own voice?

Yes. The voice changes when the second rapper starts. With two men or two women, one voice is deeper and the other higher, so they're easy to tell apart. These are AI voices, not copies of your real voices.

Can I write my own bars?

Yes. Paste four lines, 20 to 36 words in total, which is what fits in 12 seconds. Lines 1 and 2 go to Rapper 1 and lines 3 and 4 to Rapper 2. You can also edit anything AI writes.

How mean can the bars be?

Keep it a joke between friends. AI writes clean, playful roasts with no slurs, threats or swearing. The Savage vibe is sharper, but it stays on habits and not on looks or family.

Can I battle a celebrity or a real rapper?

No. Both people in the video have to be real people who agreed to it, so no celebrities, public figures or real artists, and we block their names in lyrics. Don't upload a photo of someone who hasn't said yes.

Can I make a rap battle with one photo?

A battle needs one photo of each rapper, one face per photo. They don't have to be taken together. To rap on your own, use the main generator on the homepage, which takes a single photo.

How long is a rap battle video?

Videos are 12 seconds, vertical 9:16 MP4 files with two lines for each rapper. Most are ready in about 2 minutes, and a failed render gives your credits back automatically.

Can I post it on TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

Yes, as long as the other person is happy with it. It's already vertical, so download the MP4 and post it as it is. Because it shows real people saying things they didn't say, turn on the platform's AI label when you post.
